Busy, busy January

Wow. My head is spinning. Almost IDENTICAL timing to when Jeremy turned 1, we purchased a new house and relocated. In fact, 5 years ago on Jan 5 is when we closed on our Ada townhouse. We closed our new house on January 6th. Jeremy spent his 1st birthday in a new house, Sara will spend her first birthday in the new house. Serendipity - don't actually think that's the proper use of that word but it sounds good.

Because of the intense activity at both our new house and old house both Pam and Jeremy got cheated out of "full birthdays". For Pam's we ordered out of our favorite Italian restaurant and opened a special bottle of wine. For Jeremy's, we realized about 4 days before the weekend of his birthday that it was the weekend of his birthday and tried to scrape together a last minute birthday party. Needless to say, when doing that, most folks with kids already have plans but luckily one of his favorite friends was free and they were able to come over. As it turns out, the father of this boy has connections at our favorite Italian restaurant and insisted we try their pizza. So, without realizing, we ordered from our same favorite Italian restaurant that we did for mom's b-day. Serendipity - this time the use of this term is a LITTLE closer to proper usage :-)

As you may all know from my Facebook posts, it's really almost summer like here the last week and looking that way for the next 10 days. Well maybe not summer like but it's been between 68 and 72 degrees for about 5 straight days and looking that way on into next weekend. Truly blessed especially seeing that Atlanta got snow for for the first time since like 1885 or something, our former hometown of Canton, CT is being walloped with snowstorm after snowstorm and Pam's hometown of Brooklyn and my hometown of suburban Detroit is not faring much better. On the downside, we've had a series of above 4.0 earthquakes as well. I've felt 2 of them now. I'm hoping these are just stress relief tremors so that the big one isn't so big. Only time will tell.

Anyway - just a few pics of the b-days and a little video of Jeremy fully interacting with his friend. Which his interactiveness, social awareness and general social knowledge we are grateful for.

Mom celebrating with Jeremy.

Mom celebrating with Sara.

Mom saw this cake and said, "We can't not get it. No choice." I quickly agreed.
