Healdsburg Sonoma, trip after Christmas

Thinking that Sara's arrival will bring confinement for the wine enthusiast for at least a couple months, the family went to Healdsburg, Sonoma county for a side trip after Christmas, stopping by in SF for some real nice and cheap dim sum. It was a strange and yet beautiful time to visit the wine country. The weather is wet and unpredictable, you see miles and miles of dry vines but you would also see lots of greens and yellow mustard flowers because of the rain, at the same time, you can see fall foileage sneaking a peek thru the gray mountain range. A very mystique yet relaxing place. 2 nights was enough for us though, we would probably bored stiff if we were to stay a week doing nothing. I will post more scenery pics at Pam's site.

I tried to capture the strength of these old snarly vines, doesn't it make you want to drink some old vine Zinfandel?
