We sold the house!

After weeks of trying to live our lives like model home occupants, we can finally live like pigs again. The house is SOLD! What a relief, now the whole family can move together to the Bay area and leave this snow hole. We went thru home selling together twice now, and this is the most agonizing. We only had 5 showings in 5 weeks when the house is on the market, and we had no one showed up for the open house. No one! That's scray. Rick started to lose sleep over it.

Then things take an interesting turn, thanks to St. Joseph, which a dear friend of mine has suggested to bury under the for sale sign. According to her, it is a tried and proved Catholic method for selling house, you are supposed to bury him head down and six inches away from the for sale sign, said a prayer and wait. So, out of desperation, we did that. The strangest thing is that the next day, we had 2 showings, and one of the couples in the showing stayed for an hour in the house. Then, this couple expressed interest, and wanted to see the house again. We were so excited, and found out later that this is the couple whom we outbid when we bought this house 18 months ago!

A week later, they put an offer in, but it was too low, we negotiated, and was was still 8K apart. Rick was really worried that me and the baby will have to stay behind in order to sell the house, and the winter is approaching quickly which no one is optimistic in selling anything after snow falls. We decided to pray together, and let God handled this. I told Rick if God has granted his wishes to move us out to the bay area again, he will figure out when it would be the best time for us to go and sell the house. So, we told the agent that we would give 3K in credit for repainting the house, obviously they didn't like our yellow house color. And last night, they accepted that price, the house is sold! We made more money here in CT than we did in the valley! Unbelievable!

You can consider this mere luck, but we considered this God's will. And it just shows that when we get so round up about our own affairs, and try to take control of our lives, we just worried and worried for nothing. But when you learn to let go and trust that God will handle everything for you, after all, he knows what we need the most, everything turns out peachy in perfect timing.

Now we can get things moving and start our new adventures again in the pricy bay area with JC!

Congratulation! I am so relieved to hear that the house sold because I myself was worried it may take awhile.I also knew Rick would be worried because I've seen him go through this before in Lake Orion. It would have been worse this time though because he's leaving his wife and son and Popo behind. So I am very, very happy for you.Pam,my mom also buried something at Rick old house.I think the same thing you gus did.Do you remember Rick? When doyou have to be out of the house?I cant wiat to see everyone at Christmas. The whole family is looking forward to your visit because this time he's leaving his wife and son and Popo behind.
