We just had our 3rd official Thanskgiving family dinner (I say "official" because this is Jeremy's 3rd and I don't remember making 20 pound turkeys when it was just Pam and I). Since this is the 3rd time we can't be with our extended family, we invited over some close friends to give the house a "full, happy" feel that we are used to. This is the 2nd time we've had guests over (our 1st official one was in temporary housing and we had just been back in Cali for a month, so it was just us). This may be the last though - it's pretty tiring. Pam did all the cooking while I watched Jeremy, we both hosted, while keeping an eye on Jeremy and then I cleaned up after everyone left. The price you pay for a joyous holiday? If any of our guests are now reading the blog, please know that we did enjoy it. Honestly. It is hard work though. We have decided, however, that we MAY do future Thanksgivings in Detroit and let the professionals of Deb, Bit, Ronnie and Gerry handle it. We'll do the eating and watching the Lions part.
We also started potty training Jeremy this weekend. This is our 3rd try and by far the most intensive. Previous attempts lasted a day MAYBE a day and a half. This lasted all of Thursday, Friday and Saturday. By Sunday, we said it was obvious he wasn't ready and gave up for a later date. Then what happens?? Around 7PM or so, Jeremy declares he has to go pee-pee and he did it in the potty!!!!!! Woohoo!!!! We threw him a mini-party complete with his new gift. Now comes the reinforcement. I'm hoping this isn't just a one time thing, but he certainly told us he had to BEFORE he went and repeated what we have been telling him to say when he got to the bathroom. I'm pretty sure we made an effect. I don't think that would have happened on it's own.
Hope everyone had a great holiday. Enjoy the pics.
