Potty Training

So we've been told that potty training may be the hardest thing for parents during a toddler's development. Pam had the week off, and I took 2 days vacation this week just to devote to the methods we read about for potty training. The book warns for parents to keep their patience (a tough job for me) because it claims it may be one of the most frustrating things parents will face. They were right and we gave up after a day and a half. Jeremy has no recognition of being wet (which usually helps) so we are going to wait a little longer until he at least feels uncomfortable being wet. Our biggest motivation, however, was we were told that the daycare could advance him to the 3 year old class (although he's only 2.5) if he was potty trained. Being nervous that he'll fall behind if he doesn't learn how to potty train, we took it upon ourselves to keep him ahead of his class. Since circle, square, rectangle is old hat we started him on trapezoid, rhombus, octagon and pentagon. He just about has those down now too, so we moved on to double integrals, the greek letter rho for density and the value of pi (HA!). You'll see here the future John Nash learning it himself.

Potty training is the most frustrating thing, especially with the first one. Seems when I had Jay, he was easier because Sean trained him....LOL. It was like monkey see, monkey do!Then I started all over with Kristen, she would stand with her legs apart (peeing on the floor) and saying to me "Mom, I have to pee"...arggghhh!
