Partying in the Santa Cruz mountains

We were invited to a party for my boss who has been here temporarily for 6 months and is now returning back to his home office of Atlanta. It was held at a co-worker's cabin in the Santa Cruz mountains. Weather was beautiful and the drive down was very nice. Both Pam and I were a little nervous that we'd show up and have to leave within the hour since it started at 4PM and dinner wasn't going to be served until about 6:30. That's right around the time he starts wearing out from the day, getting a bit tired and therefore fussy and gets ready for his bath and bed. We figured we'd make the mandatory appearance, thank the boss for offering me the job and moving us back to California and be on our way. Boy were we wrong. JC had a great time and he's quite the player. All the women were waiting in line to hold him and play with him and he gladly obliged. In fact, there was a stretch there of about an hour when neither Pam and I needed to hold him. For about 20 minutes, we didn't even know where he was (well of course we knew but we were out of his sight and he re-appeared from inside the cabin as happy as ever). Laughing and smiling and flirting and talking. No stranger anxiety at all, in fact there was at least once he reached out to others to be picked up. What a flirt. Weekend was great overall. Party was on Saturday and Sunday there was an arts and crafts fair in downtown Mountain View just a few blocks from our house. Sunny skies, happy babies, homemade breakfast. We also grilled dinner outdoors today and ate alfresco. It was a very nice night. Also, it appears as if JC is completely adapted to daycare. He hasn't been crying when Pam drops him off, he's been able to nap the last few days on his own and is not nearly as clingly at night (he still is, but there's a huge, huge difference). Hopefully we turned the corner.

Everything else is good. If you haven't checked in a while, I've finally put a new post on mom for her b-day. That's all for now.
