Active Memorial Day weekend

Lots of pics this past weekend from lots of activity. First of all, pics that aren't posted here are when Pam and I both played hooky from work on Friday afternoon to get our long weekend started early. We left JC in daycare for the afternoon so we can sneak out and have tapas for lunch at a nice restaurant then go see the DaVinci code matinee. Although the lunch was too expensive and the movie came out completely flat, it was nice to play a childless couple for a few hours. It was very rewarding, however, when we both went to pick the little guy up from daycare (which we've never done before) and he was very excited to see both of us! On Saturday, we went to a new buffet in our old neighborhood (where we lived before moving to CT) and strapped on the feedbags. It's one of these all you can eat crab legs, chicken, sushi, dimsum, anything else you can name joint. JC had his own buffet plate and was eating just as much as we were! After lunch, we went on a short hike with Popo to work off the lunch.

Sunday, we hosted a cookout barbecue for 11 of our closest friends and 5 children belonging to those various friends. We had the grill going all afternoon long with chicken, burgers, corn on the cob, veggie skewers, pork skewers, asparagus, chips, ice cream, apple pie, beer, wine, pop - can't get much more Memorially than that. Problem is, the hecticness prevented us from picking up a camera and taking pics. Our living room looked like a daycare for the day and the parents kept going in and out to eat, socialize then watch the kids. It was quite a nice day.

Monday we continued the cookout theme, but this time we were mere guests and other people did all the work (our dentist - who happens to be our friend to be exact). This was a much bigger affair and was held at a park in nearby Sunnyvale. By the end of the BBQ, we were all pretty tired from the weekend but managed to do a little mall shopping before calling it quits.

It was a great weekend - I hate to see it end. The weather was beautiful and sunny for all 3 days in the mid-70's. Hope you all had relaxing weekends as well. Enjoy the pics.
