We were being put to parenting test when JC's sick last week, first he threw up in his crib in the middle of the night at 3am, strange how I knew and rushed to his room. You never could imagine how much stuff his little stomach held, it just rushed out like a river flow. Then he's got a fever to 103F, I gave him infant Tylenol but he kept throwing it up. All I could do is to nurse him. So, we took him to the doc, his fever was hovering around 101F to 103F, we had to give him infant Ibuprofen and Tylenol alternatively every 3 hours. The poor kid was so afraid of the spoon and bottles we used to feed him medicine with, he was kicking and screaming every time he saw a spoon or bottle. He lost all appetite, and kept throwing up. It was scary, we felt so sorry for him. After 3 days, finally, his fever broke, but little red dots were all over his body. Roseola, we were told. 2 days later, finally, all red dots disappeared, but a rash on his cheek kept getting bigger, redder and more irritable. Frantically called the doc again, he said if the rash still there after 2 days of applying Vaseline, off to the doc we go again. *Sigh* Thank God for small town pediatrician, always there when you need him.
Now here is the little man rummaging thru his toy box with a bored and sad face. He won't laugh no matter how much I tried, just cracked a little smile here or there when I fed him bits of table food, a true food lover indeed.
