Pumkin patch

My mom has planted a few Chinese vegetables in our front yard, so much for landscaping. :o) Look at them now!

Is that a bittermelon I see? Manolo planted some at my house too. How do you cook yours Pam? He stuffs our with ground pork & onions and puts an egg batter on it.It's definitely an acquired taste just like beer. I am beginning to like it though

Ronnie, Yes, that's a bittermelon there. We usually do it two ways, stuff it with ground pork, chopped dry shrimps, garlic, and shiitake mushrooms, then steam them. Afterwards, pour a sauce of corn power, sugar and sesame oil on them. Another way is to stir fry them with garlic and sliced beef. It is definitely an acquired taste, but Rick started to pick a piece or two now. He is getting more Chinese. :o)
